My Serenity

I miss the beach. It's one of the most perfect places of serenity and tranquility in the world. I just love sitting back, listening to the sound of the waves crashing against the beach, feeling the soft beach sand between my toes, skin boarding with my dad, burying myself up to my armpits, playing beach volleyball, playing beach soccer, and so much more! I am missing my sanctuary! I think of it all the time during math class (Mr. Zirpoli's class). If I ever run away, you know where to find me ;P

The Gentleman Comeback

The knowledge of how to be a gentleman is becoming an rappidly extinct. Guys are trying to be the "bad boy on the block", but this mentality is replacing the mentality of chivalry. Gentleman are becoming dinosaurs. I want to help create a comeback for chivalrous young men everywhere. For the basics, I'll give you guys some tips:

1) Don't curse in front of girls unless exremely necessary and that should be a rare ocasion.
2) Don't make obsene jokes around girls unless you have their permission.
3) Don't make obsene gestures to girls of any kind.
4) Don't ask girls about their weight! EVER!!!
5) Don't touch girls in an innappropriate fashion even if you're just kidding.
6) Walk on the outside of the sidwalk when walking with a girl outdoors.
7) Don't eat like we men do around girls. It may be agonizingly painful to eat that slow, but it's for the best.
8) Say, "Excuse me" if you burp in front of a girl. If you have a need to burp out of your south pole, try and not do it where the girl is standing... or where I'm standing for that matter.
9) Lend the girl your coat or jacket if she is cold or if it is raining.

These starter tips are a few of the rules a gentleman should abide by. I'm not saying that guys should walk around with a stick shoved up their hind quarters like the French, but try not to be disgusting around women. Its common courtesy. It's going to be hard at first, but develop good habits for later on in life. And by all means, do the exact opposite of the rules I have just stated if you're hanging out with guys! No guy wants to hang out with a pansie!

What Happened to Courage?

Courage is a virtue that few people truly possess. Courage is not just bravery to face an opponent on a battlefield, but also the ability to stand up to do what's right when it would be easier to do otherwise. Not many people have the strength or the will power to stand up against the temptations of evil because they're scared. Scared of criticism, being an outcast, being mocked, being ridiculed, being alone, being injured, or they're scared of their mortality. Peer pressure is one of the biggest enemies we will ever face. Have the courage to say no even if it means being made fun of. You will be glad you did later on in life. We are given by the infinite wisdom of God a limited time on this earth. How will I be remembered after I am gone? What have I done to help improve my country and better the world? What more could I have done to make this world a better place to live for my family? These are the question you will be asking yourself before you leave this life. We need to fight for what is right and just for all. Help those who are helpless. Fight for those who cannot fight for themselves. Be brave when faced with peer pressure. Don't just do what's right when people are looking so that you can get attention. Do what's right because it is right. You decide how your legacy will be written. Make sure you're proud of it.

A Book Everyone Should Read

I don't read voluntarily a lot, but one book I think everyone should read is The Art of War by Sun Tzu. Wheather you want to go into the military or not, this book is fantastic. It has strategies for battle, campaigns, politics and strategy for everyday life. I couldn't stop reading this book once I picked it up and I'm not normally one to do that. The knowledge that Sun Tzu has about strategy is amazing and could help anyone no matter what career they choose. So I highly recommend this book to everyone who has half a brain.

My America

I love my country. I take pride in the flag that represents our great nation. I could not pledge my allegiance to any other country. One thing I do not understand is how people cannot see how privileged they are living in America. No country is perfect, but people seem to focus on the negatives rather than the positives. We have rights, we enforce the law, we have the freedom of the press, we have a Capitalistic economy, we have the strongest economy in the world, we have the strongest military in the world, we have the right to bare arms, we have the freedom of religion, we have a structured government, we are a democracy and a republic, and we have the freedom of speech. If we don't like something, we have the ability to speak out against it. Americans take advantage of these rights and privileges that they have in this country. We don't realize how bad it is in other countries. China is only allowed to have one child per family. Russia is a corrupt society where you could lose your job or business for speaking out against the government. Israelis live in fear of being attacked everyday. Kids in Ghana are starving in the streets without anything but the rags on their backs. I think that we should be thankful for all the rights, possessions, and oppurtunities we have here in this land of oppurtunity. I think that American's need to regain their patriotism and pride in the our country of the United States of America.
